I just came across this picture from this year’s Biennale, the biggest exhibition of modern art, which takes place in Venice every other year. What we see is part of the American pavilion. Apparently many countries’ exhibitions deal with politics this time. Only our German pavilion seems to be all about the Christoph Schlingensief’s death. The renowned theatre and film director died of cancer last year, at a very young age. He was supposed to create Germany’s contribution to this year’s exhibition. To me it’s a little sad, that it is now rather staging his terrible death, than his amazing work.
The Biennale ends on November, 27th. I would definitely love to be in Venice right now!
